Two Breeds. One Standard.
At Stone Ridge Kennel, every breeding decision is guided by health, temperament, and conformation. We raise German Shepherds and Chihuahuas with the same commitment to excellence.
German Shepherd
Intelligence, Loyalty & Strength
Our German Shepherds are bred from proven working and show bloodlines, selected for sound structure, stable temperament, and exceptional drive. Every breeding pair undergoes full health clearances before any litter is planned.
Temperament
Confident, loyal, highly trainable. Excellent with families and children when properly socialized.
Size
Males 65–90 lbs, Females 50–70 lbs. Medium to large, well-muscled and athletic.
Coat
Double coat in classic black & tan, sable, or bi-colour. Moderate shedding; weekly brushing recommended.
Activity Level
High energy. Thrives with daily exercise, mental stimulation, and a job to do.
Health Testing Protocol
OFA Hip Evaluation
All breeding dogs evaluated and certified clear of hip dysplasia through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.
OFA Elbow Evaluation
Elbow clearances confirmed prior to breeding to reduce the risk of elbow dysplasia in offspring.
DM Genetic Testing
All dogs tested for Degenerative Myelopathy. We breed only clear-to-clear or clear-to-carrier pairings.
Cardiac Screening
Annual cardiac evaluations performed by a board-certified cardiologist.

Chihuahua
Bold, Devoted & Elegant
Our Chihuahuas are bred for correct conformation, vibrant temperament, and robust health. Raised in our home from birth, each puppy is thoroughly socialized and ready to become a devoted companion.
Temperament
Alert, devoted, and surprisingly bold. Forms deep bonds with their family and thrives on companionship.
Size
Typically 3–6 lbs at maturity. Compact and elegant with a confident presence.
Coat
Available in smooth and long coat varieties. Wide range of colours and markings.
Activity Level
Moderate. Enjoys daily walks and play sessions; adapts well to apartment and home living.
Health Testing Protocol
Cardiac Evaluation
All breeding dogs receive annual cardiac screenings to monitor for pulmonic stenosis and other congenital conditions.
Patellar Luxation
OFA patellar evaluations performed on all breeding dogs to reduce the incidence of luxating patellas.
Eye Certification
CAER eye exams performed annually to screen for hereditary eye conditions.
Dental Assessment
Dental structure evaluated as part of our breeding selection — correct bite and dentition are prioritized.
